FAQ

Q:What age should I make the first dental appointment for my child?
A:The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends the first dental visit around the age of one. Although the child may just have a few teeth, it is important to meet the pediatric dentist and learn infant oral health instructions to prevent decay on those new teeth! Most children are ready for their first dental cleaning at three years of age.
Q:What if my child is not cooperative?
A:That’s why you are in our office! All children have moments! Our doctors are specially trained to treat children with an emphasis on childhood behavior. We have seen it all! We employ several techniques to calm and cheer-up even our most hesitant patients. From our office décor to the way we interact with the children. You will be surprised! Our treatment area is an open bay with several chairs in one big room. This allows for a fun atmosphere and children can see other children receiving treatment.
Q:Will I be with my child the entire visit?
A:We do ask that Moms remain in the reception area during treatment. However, you are invited to peek at your child in the treatment area at any time. Just inform a staff member at the front desk and they will escort you to where your child is being treated. Prior to your child’s first visit, we invite you to come by and meet the staff and tour the office.
Q:What insurance do you accept?
A:We are not on any list of providers from any insurance company. We will however electronically file your insurance for you, as a courtesy. Remember, the parent is responsible for any unpaid balance. Payment is also due at the time of service. The Cartersville office accepts Peachcare for kids and Medicaid.
